Iran film ‘Animal’ wins award at US film festival

Acclaimed Iranian short film ‘Animal’ has received a prestigious prize at a film festival in the US state of Colorado.

Co-directed by filmmakers Bahram and Bahman Ark, ‘Animal’ won the Liberty Global International Student Filmmaker Award at the 40th Denver Film Festival.

‘Animal’ depicts the story of a man who wants to pass the border illegally; so he hunts a ram and decides to escape disguised as the animal.

Iranian films ‘Disappearance’ by Ali Asgari and ‘Retouch’ by Kaveh Mazaheri were also screened during the Denver festival.

Presented by Denver Film Society, the 40th edition of the Denver Film Festival took place from November 1-12.
